WEEK 9_UNIVERSAL DESIGN FOR LEARNING (UDL)
Hello everyone! ๐ Have a good day.
In today's blog, I would like to talk about my teaching approach to engage every learners incorporate using Universal Design for Learning (UDL).
Firstly, I prefer to include flexible assessments in my teaching approach. Flexible assessment is known as a type of evaluation in which the student has the power over their results. By allowing students to control over their assessments, flexibility in assessment can help encourage and immerse students in the learning process. For instance, having tests on the subjects, quizzes, individual or grouping assignments. They will be grading based on the marks they got. The due date of the assignments usually within four or five weeks. It gives them flexibility to choose when can they focus on the assessments.
Second, I love to include digital or printed material for my teaching approach. According to universal design learning method, students seems cannot focus and study if they do not obtain any material information. Due to that, any material that given will be beneficial to them as they can jot down the notes. For example, printed notes, slides presentation, YouTube videos and so on. They can always refer to the materials if they want a further understanding.
Lastly, riddles and games also is a good teaching approach for students. Why would I include this teaching approach? Because they are fun. Sometimes, the nicest move you can achieve in classroom from time to time is to inspire a little smile. Dealing with riddles allows the students to be imaginative and humorous while studying. This also would release their stress too. There are too many website that can be use. For instance, Kahoot, Quizizz and so on.
As a teacher, it is important to include interesting teaching approach in order to engage the students' learning. Teacher should use a variety of teaching and learning method in every class as to give a great understanding and knowledge for students.
